The Pending Queue is where all event submissions by non-admins or trusted users will be sent to await approval by a Platform or Event Admin before they are posted to the calendar.

Approving a Submitted Event

In your admin dashboard, navigate via Events > Pending

Upon page load, you will see all pending events listed starting with the event that is the furthest in the future.


Verify: Selecting this button will approve the event and it will be immediately posted to the calendar.

Red X: Selecting this button will bring forth a message form to send to the submitter to detail why an event has been rejected. The rejection message is not required to reject an event.

Toggle Advanced Filters: Selecting this option will display options for filtering the pending queue.

Only Show Possible Duplicates: Checking this will only display events that Localist may consider a duplicate of an event that has already been approved and posted.

Toggle All Descriptions: Selecting this will display the descriptions for ever event in the list.

The Pending Digest

Every day at 4PM EST, Localist sends a reminder to the specified “pending digest emails” with a list of all events awaiting approval in the Pending Queue. The pending digest includes all or nothing–it does not take into account restricted filter permissions on a user’s account. However, when restricted users navigate to the pending queue, the list updates with respect to their permissions. The digest also includes feed status updates.To add an email to this list, navigate via Settings > Calendar Settings in your admin dashboard.

In your calendar settings, you will see a Pending Digest Email field under Contact. There is no limit as to how many emails can receive the digest.


Note: The pending digest is all or nothing and it does not take in to account any restricted filter permissions set on a user’s account. However, even though they will see the event listed in the digest, when they navigate to the pending queue the list will update with respect to their restricted permissions.

Feed StatusesBelow the list of pending events, the digest lists feed information:

  • Name
  • Status (complete, etc.)
  • Date and time of import
  • Number of events imported
  • Number of pending events
  • Number of rejected events

If an event has been rejected, there will be a link to the feed status page where exact errors will be listed per event.
