Automatic Notifications

Automatic notifications all the communications that are sent by Localist directly to a user. Most (not all) can be individually enabled/disabled by the user. The default notification settings can also be set per-platform, so when new users sign up, they are automatically opted-out by default.

We don’t recommend opting users out of notifications by default; our data shows75% of user find newsletters and digest emails useful. It makes more sense to send to 100% of users and have 25% opt-out instead of opting-out 100% of users and having only 25% opt-in. Contrary to popular belief, most users don’t have “email overload,” especially if you’re give them information they’d find useful.
